Our Trip to the Big Apple (New York City)
June 2002

Day 3 - continued

We grabbed a Hagen-Daz, and wished they had them back in Watertown, and then decided to find Paula and Jamie. We finally found them, and hopped on the
Subway, which isn't as bad as you would think.

We went back to the hotel and rested up, because that evening we were off to my favorite NY restaurant, Sardi's...  since I didn't have a camera that night, we are going to have to wait until Jamie gets her pictures developed. But I can tell you that by far, it was one of the most pleasurable dining experiences we'd ever had. And once again, we had to do it right. I'd always wanted to arrive at Sardi's in a stretch limo, so we hired one for the evening, and he waited for us and then took us back.

After we left there 4 hours later, Pat and I decided how could we let the limo go to waste, so we dropped off two tired friends at the hotel and had the driver take us to the PLAZA Hotel! This is such a grand hotel, and we were torn whether to stay at the Algonquin or the Plaza. Pat and I enjoyed the Oak Room for an after-dinner drink (or two) and he looked like a king sitting, drinking his $40 Scotch and having a cigar, while I sipped on Remy Martin Louis XIII.

Tired, exhausted, but still wanting to savor NYC, we left a few hours later, and took the famous carriage ride around Central Park and NY. Our driver and his lovely horse Zoë, showed us a wonderful tour of the park. Tyge (the driver) was from Ireland, so we had a great time reminiscing. He even dropped us at the Hotel, which they normally do not do.

We created wonderful memories that night, and will cherish them forever...

But... with that said.... on to Day 4!!!!
