Our Trip to the Big Apple (New York City)
June 2002

Day 4 - continued and part of our last day

We left the Schooner tired and exhausted, as usual, but still not willing to give up the ship, so to speak. So, we decided to take a walk... Times Square at night is an entirely different beast. Yes, you must be careful, but it takes on a life of its own. I'm sorry these photos are not the greatest, but they are a memory...

Once again, we were famished, so we hobbled back to our favorite deli.. no luck with anyone famous that night.

One of the most beautiful sites we couldn't capture properly happened when we were walking back to the hotel. We looked up (as we did a lot) and saw the reflection of the Empire State Building at night in several of the buildings around us. It was breathtaking! This was the best photo we could take.

I guess we just didn't want to go to sleep, knowing the next day was our last...

But, never let it be said....

Day 5

proved once again to be a shopping day! I could not leave NYC without going to

This must be one of the neatest stores around. We again stopped at St. Patrick's Cathedral, to light candles for our Moms', my Dad, and our friends..

We sat outside for a few minutes before going back to the hotel. One funny thing happened -- we saw a meter maid giving someone a ticket!

Book 'em Danno!

What truly amazed both Pat and I was the history in this little island, and the beauty. This man holding the world on his shoulders in front of Rockefeller Center says it all... no matter what, we will survive.

So, it's time to say good bye, New York City.. Come help us say bye bye..
