Our Trip to the Big Apple (New York City)

Day 5 - Our Last Day

Before I go further, I must thank you for your patience in viewing these photos. They are not an easy load if you are on dial-up, and you might have never reached this place in the trip. But if you did, I hope you enjoyed yourself.

We returned to the hotel, made sure everything was packed, and began to leave.. but before we left, we had to have a photo of

Matilda! This is the Algonquin's house cat, and she is the fourth generation Matilda. There has been one since the mid 1930's. Matilda originally wandered into the hotel and never left. The staff told us if she ever gets out, they will lose their jobs.

This is the hallway of our floor... the wallpaper has sketches of artist's renderings of the hotel.

I think Pat might have been a tad tired and I am sure he didn't like the fact that he might have to once again schlep bags..

But he was lucky... our bell captain saved the day.

This is Jamie with the most wonderful door man we've ever met. His name is Noel, and he is just a sweetheart.

As our bags we being brought down, we decided to rest for a bit..

(I really don't look THAT bad in real life! <g>)

With our bags in the elevator I thought it might be nice to remember the other mascot of the Algonquin..

This is a copper raven that has been in the hotel for 100 years. He's kind of a good luck piece now. So it was time to load the limo for the ride back to the airport.. all I could think of was the lyrics, "Well, my bags are packed, I'm ready to go.."

Now this is WAY too much luggage for 4 people! Doesn't Pat do a good job of supervising?

Bye Bye New York City... Thanks for the memories!!!

And thank you too, for being our guest and sharing our trip!

We love you...

Lin and Pat
