Our Trip to the Big Apple (New York City)
June 2002

We hope you like our photos as much as we enjoyed
taking them and sharing them with you! Please be patient - if you have dial-up these will take some time to load...

And just recently our dear friends Paula and Jamie got their photos to us, so if you'd like to see more photos (including some of Pat and me) just click on the apple!

To Jamie and Paula's Photos

Day One:
We arrive in New York City and stay at the Hotel Algonquin (a wonderful place)! But we had to arrive in style.

Our first stop was Yankee Stadium because our friend Paula had always wanted to go there!

After touring the ball fields, which is quite impressive I might add for someone who isn't in to baseball, we were off to the hotel and our first day in NYC!

One of our first stops was St. Patrick's Cathedral (of course Pat thought it was HIS cathedral). The doors are awesome, as is the whole cathedral.

One of my favorite works of art is the Pieta (even if I am Jewish). It's much more beautiful than this photo.

We hussled off to FAO Schwartz - and if you love toys this is the place to go!! They even have ALL of the colors of M&M's - at $8.00 per pound, but they are worth it! Jamie fell in love with this bear, but I definitely had NO room for it in our house!

and by that time we were exhausted and went back to the hotel!

The Algonquin was the home of many famous literary writers, including Dorothy Parker, Gertrude Stein, James Thurber, and artists such as Al Hirshfeld. They would congregate daily at their own table and discuss life and its problems.

or have a drink or two in their lounge...
